2011 Team Awards
At the Lower Mainland Minor Lacrosse Commission AGM in late November 2011, 4 of our teams were given awards.
FAIR PLAY AWARD The Midget A1 and Novice A2 were awarded the Fair Play award. The Fair play award winners received a plaque.
LEAGUE CHAMPIONS Bantam A1 and Bantam B teams were league champions. The league champions received a plaque, along with medals for each player.

PoCo Novice Boys bring home Silver

Over the weekend Port Coquitlam Novice boys won Silver at the New Westminster Tournament.
The final game was tied up until the last 34 seconds, ending with a 5-6 score.
Congratulations Boys - Great job by all.

Novice Female Take Gold at 2011 Adanacs Challenge

This past weekend the Poco Novice Girls won Gold at the Adanac Challenge. The girls went 2-0-1 in the round robin, and beat New West 10-7 in the finals. All the girls contributed to an excellent team effort.

Peewee Female Take Bronze in 2011 Adanac Challenge

The Poco Pee Wee Girls won the Bronze Medal at the recent Coquitlam Adanac Challenge.
The girls finished tied for 1st after the round robin, but lost a close game to Coquitlam in the semi-finals. They came back with a convincing win over Port Moody to take the bronze medal. A tremendous effort was had by everyone!! Way to go girls!!

PoCo’s Bantam A1 squad took Gold at the New West Hyack Tournament

PoCo’s Bantam A1 squad took Gold at the New West Hyack Tournament over the Victoria Day long weekend.
The team expected to be in tough with top teams entered and going in with two significant injuries. After sustaining two more long term injuries early in the tournament the team showed true grit and heart to finish third place in the round robin with a record of 2 wins, 1 loss and 2 ties. Semi-final and Medal day Monday proved only to show more determination, teamwork and BIG hearted effort to pull off a 5 – 4 double sudden death victory over host New West and later that day another heart stopping 5 – 4 victory over Burnaby with the winning goal coming with 17 seconds remaining to capture the gold.

Poco Novice Advance Take Gold in Calgary

The Poco Novice A Saints competed in the 34th annual Calgary Canada tournament this past weekend. The Saints went through the round robin 4-0 beating Red Deer 14-1, Calgary Sabercats 16-4, Mimico Ont 11-10, and Calgary Hornets 10-3.
In the finals they met Mimico once again winning the GOLD 10-4.
Evan Wray also took home tournament MVP.
All the boys played great, and had alot of fun!

Poco Novice Advance Take Gold

This past weekend the Poco Novice Advance competed in the New West Bellie Bowl. The boys went 4-0, beating New West 7-1, North Shore 10-3, Ridge Meadows 12-2, and beating Burnaby in the finals 11-3 to take home the Gold.

FINAL Medal Game - PoCo and New West
PoCo PeeWee A1 lead the Provincial round robin play going undefeated 5-0, followed by a semi-final win over Cowichan to secure their position in the final. The Final left PoCo with a Provincial Silver in a close game against New Westminster.

Bantam B2 take Silver at the 2009 Provincial Championships
 FINAL Medal Game - PoCo and Pennisula. PoCo Bantam B2 started the Provincial round robin play going undefeated 4-0, with wins over Delta Islanders 12-5, Terrace 9-6, Nicola Valley 10-9 followed by Coquitlam B2 10-6 in the crossover game to secure their position in the final gold match up. In the Final PoCo Bantam B2 took Provincial Silver in a great close game against Pennisula. Game MVP's went to: Sander Pinkerton, Colton Wheeler, Brett Jago, Caleb Megyes, Cooper Lagace. Sander Pinkerton was selected to the 2009 Provincial All Star Team.

Banatam B2 gold medal victory in the 29th Annual Nanaimo Bantam Tournament
"All 15 runners and our goalie gave it everything they had in an awesome sea saw battle against Peninsula in the gold medal round, PoCo takes a 5-4 victory at 1:28 of the 3rd period."

Bantam B2 Gold - Coquitlam's Adanac Cup Tournament

The Bantam B2 brought home the Gold Medal from Coquitlam's Adanac Cup Tournament, held over the May long weekend (May 15, 16, 17 & 18. 2009).
The Saints started the tournament with a 13-0 win against Vancouver, followed by a narrow defeat of 5-6 against Coquitlam's Bantam B1 team. They fought back for thier second win of the tournament against Port Moody. In the third of the quarter-final the Saint's trailed the Coquitlam B2 team by 1 goal, at 1:12 they evened the score. The Saints continued to hold it together with 11 seconds remaining scored the Game Winner. Saints earned their 4-3 victory and secured their position in the Gold Medal game.
The Gold Medal Game was Saint's Bantam B2 team vs Adanac's B1 team. Saints took the Gold Medal with a 10-5 victory and ended the tournament with a solid 38 goals for and 16 against.
