Bantam A1 take Gold at Hyack Tournament

PoCo’s Bantam A1 squad took Gold at the New West Hyack Tournament over the Victoria Day long weekend.

The team expected to be in tough with top teams entered and going in with two significant injuries. After sustaining two more long term injuries early in the tournament the team showed true grit and heart to finish third place in the round robin with a record of 2 wins, 1 loss and 2 ties. Semi-final and Medal day Monday proved only to show more determination, teamwork and BIG hearted effort to pull off a 5 – 4 double sudden death victory over host New West and later that day another heart stopping 5 – 4 victory over Burnaby with the winning goal coming with 17 seconds remaining to capture the gold.
