2026 Box Lacrosse registration

Read the following information carefully before registering

Residency rules are set by the BCLA and must be followed by all minor associations.
You MUST be a resident of Port Coquitlam.

ALL First-time players are required to forward proof of Port Coquitlam residency and age.

Proof of residency requires at least one copy of a current utility bill, gas, hydro, cable, landline, property tax notice, or current city water and sewer invoice.
If you are a renter without utilities in your name, you must provide a signed letter from your landlord confirming residency and a piece of government ID showing the current address. NO other documents will be accepted
Proof of age requires one of the following Birth Certificate, Passport, or BC Services Card.
NO other documents will be accepted.
These should be loaded directly into the registration system or scanned and emailed to the registrar immediately.

Returning players who have played for two or more years with PCMLA can be grandfathered.
Box and field are considered different sports; separate grandfathering rules apply to each. Grandfathering does not transfer to siblings.

Most of these programs require 6-8 weeks for processing. Please apply early.

General Information

First Time Player Discount
For the 2026 season, new players to Port Coquitlam Minor Lacrosse, U11 and up, will receive a $50 discount on registration.
Discounts will be processed by PCMLA after all necessary paperwork is complete and team placement has been made.

Multiple Players Per Family Discount
For the 2026 season, families that have multiple children registering will get a 50% reduction for 3^rd and any additional children.
Discounts will be processed by the PCMLA after registration is complete and team placements are made.

Goalie Discount - U11 and Up
Players who choose to participate as full-time goalies will have their fees discounted by 50%
Discounts will be processed by the PCMLA after registration is complete and team placements are made.

Jersey & Goalie Deposits
All players are required to supply us with a jersey deposit or a goalie gear deposit.
Jersey deposits are $100.00, and goalie gear deposits are $1000.00. Cheques provided must be postdated to August 1, 2026.
We will be diligent in ensuring we have these cheques prior to any games being played. At the end of the season, once the jersey or gear has been returned, we will destroy the deposit cheque.

Team Fees
All teams will have fees for team-specific costs; the PCMLA does not know what these fees will be, as it is a team decision.
When teams are formed, managers will include parents in this discussion. 

PCMLA Raffle
Each season the PCMLA holds a fundraising raffle for our association.  Each registered family is asked to participate.
Details will be given to team managers at the beginning of the season.

Tax Receipt
The confirmation email you receive after your registration is your tax receipt.  
Please be sure you keep a copy; the registrar cannot print them after the fact, and no other receipts will be issued.

‘A’ Team Tryouts – U11 to U17 Coed and Female

A-level tryouts will take place starting in early March, with final team decisions made by the end of the month.

There is a $75 tryout fee that guarantees each athlete at least two on-floor evaluation sessions.
After these initial sessions, athletes are placed into evaluation cohorts A1, A2, and B.
Evaluations will continue to determine final placement.

Athletes who do not opt into tryouts will begin the team formation process in the B cohort.

EXPECTATIONS FOR A-LEVEL

A-level play requires additional commitment from both athletes and families. Athletes should:

• Be motivated to practice outside of regular team sessions
• Arrive prepared and practiced
• Have all equipment game-ready

Registering for A-level tryouts confirms your understanding of these expectations.

TRYOUT AVAILABILITY & PRIORITY

We understand that families and athletes may have competing priorities during the tryout period. Due to the limited time between tryouts and the start of the season, we are unable to adjust or extend tryout sessions for vacations or conflicts with other sports.

Families interested in A-level consideration should plan to prioritize tryout attendance to ensure a complete and fair evaluation.

OUR PRIORITY

Our priority is to place each athlete at the level where they can:

• Compete safely and confidently
• Continue developing skills
• Build confidence and enjoy the game

There are NO tryout fees for U7 or U9.  

Refund Policy

Full refund before participation in any organized team event (practice/tryout/evaluation).
Full refund less $75.00 if the player has participated in any PCMLA event (practice/tryout/evaluation) and before the first game of the season.
Full refund less $75.00 up to 2 weeks into the season for medical reasons (Proof of condition must be provided by a doctor).

Tryout fees will not be refunded once the division tryouts begin.

In the event we are unable to have a lacrosse season in 2026, the PCMLA may not be able to offer full refunds; however, a refund of fees minus costs that have already been incurred by the association will be issued.
