2024 Box Lacrosse registration
Read the following information carefully before registering
You MUST be a resident of Port Coquitlam.
Residency rules are set by the BCLA and must be followed by all minor associations.
ALL First-time players are required to forward proof of Port Coquitlam residency and age.
At least one of the following is required for proof of residency; a copy of a current utility bill, gas, hydro, cable or property tax notice.
At least on of the following is required for proof of age; Birth Certificate, Passport, BC Services Card.
These can be scanned and emailed to the registrar or post mailed.
Returning players that have played for two or more years with PCMLA can be grandfathered.
Box and field are considered different sports, separate grandfathering rules apply to each. Grandfathering does not transfer to siblings.
Sponsorship - Kidsport/Jumpstart/A4K
You are responsible for applying for subsidy through these programs if financial assistance is needed.

Most of these programs require 6-8 weeks for processing, please apply early.
We will follow up to ensure you have applied, failure to do so may affect a player’s eligibility to play.

First Time Player Discount
For the 2024 season new players to Port Coquitlam Minor Lacrosse, U11 and up, will receive a $50 discount on registration.
Discounts will be processed by PCMLA after all necessary paperwork is complete and team placement has been made.
Multiple Players Per Family Discount
For the 2024 season, families that have multiple children registering will get a 50% reduction for 3rd and any additional children.
**To have the discount applied to your registration automatically you must use the add another player option on the right side of the parent information page.
If this step is not taken the PCMLA will need to process a refund of fees after the fact.
Goalie Discount - U11 and Up
Players that choose to participate as full time goalies will have their fees discounted by 50%, you must indicate registration as a goalie on the player information page, discounts will be processed by the PCMLA after registration is complete and team placements are made.
Jersey & Goalie Deposits
All players are required to supply us with a jersey deposit or goalie gear deposit.
Jersey deposits are $100.00 and goalie gear deposits are $1000.00. Cheques provided must be postdated to August 1, 2024.
We will be diligent in ensuring we have these cheques prior to any games being played. At the end of the season, once the jersey or gear has been returned, we will destroy the deposit cheque.
Team Fees
All teams will have fees for team specific costs, the PCMLA does not know what these fees will be as there are a team decision, when teams are formed managers will include parents in this discussion.
Tax Receipt
The confirmation email you receive after your registration is your tax receipt. Please be sure you keep a copy, the registrar cannot print them after the fact, no other receipts will be issued.
‘A’ Team Tryouts – U11 to U17 male divisions
There is a tryout fee of $25 for A teams in the U11 to U17 male divisions.
Female players, do NOT select this option. In the future if female tryouts become necessary, the $25 fee will be collected from those interested at that time.
Refund Policy
Full refund prior to participation in any organized team event (practice/tryout/evaluation).
Full refund less $75.00 if the player has participated in any PCMLA event and prior to first game of the season.
Full refund less $75.00 up to 2 weeks into the season with medical reasons (Proof of condition must be provided by a doctor).
In the event we are unable to have a lacrosse season in 2024 the PCMLA may not be able to offer full refunds, however, refund of fees minus costs that have already been incurred by the association will be issued.

Please note the following important registration tips:
- The U7 and U9 divisions are coed. When registering please select Play in Male Division if prompted to do so.
- You will require the players birth certificate number and personal health number to complete registration.
- To have the multiple player discount applied to your registration automatically you must use the add another player option on the right side of the parent information page
- Please make sure an email address is entered into the player information section, use the address you would like all PCMLA communication to go to.

From time to time, team and individual pictures and video will be captured for training and PCMLA promotional purposes.
